A Tear for our Country

Framed and matted this 16 X 20 painting was fashioned after a flag I saw. I worry about the state of our country. We seem to be more divided than ever before. I added a tear because I believe our national bird is shedding a tear for our country.

Feeding Time at the Koi Pond

We did have four Koi fish but sadly now we have only three.  I guess a hungry raccoon or egret stopped by for lunch.  This 16 X 20 painting is triple matted and framed in an old gold ornate frame that measures H 36” X W 27” X D 2”.

In the Bayou

 I Love Blue Herons.  This portrait of a blue got more “ likes” on ARTREPNEUR than most of my other paintings. This painting is framed in a black floating frame and measures H 22 ½” X  W 11 ¾” X D 1”.

The Tides Coming In

This is a story of a young girl (me) at Crystal Beach in Texas.  I loved to beach comb and find treasures -shells which I painted and sold to my long suffering neighbors.  This is the root of my love of the ocean and painting.  This painting is a take-off on a famous painting.  I changed it to suit me.  Can you find the octopus??  It is framed in a beautiful classic gold frame and double matted.  The painting is H 20” X W 16” and framed to H 34” X W 28” X D 1 ¼”.

Flying to Ambergris Caye, Belize

My family and I love, love, love scuba diving. This painting is a representation of the flight from the mainland to Ambergris Caye.  Looking down from the plane to the beautiful reefs and the clear water, the anticipation is palatable as to what we will see.  This painting is rendered in the 2021 interior decorator colors of deep teal, Bleu Lagon,  and bronze.  It is framed in a floating bronze frame and measures H 50” X W 60 “ X D 2 ¼ “. This painting can be displayed vertically also.

Kisatchie Blue

The Blue Heron is posing for his painting.  He is beautiful and he knows it. These magnificent birds are found in our beautiful Louisiana swamps and waterways. This portrait is framed in a black floating frame H 37” X W 25” X D 1 ¼”.

Shimmering with Iridescent paint this painting was done while I was watching Outlander.  It is reminiscent of their many adventures and their passion.  It is framed in a floating frame and measures H- 50” X W- 60” D -2 ¼”.  This painting can be displayed vertically.

In Stillness God’s Whisper Can Be Heard

My friend sent me this in an email.  At a time I needed to hear God’s whispers.  Can you feel the icy cold of the night and see the mare’s breath as she exhales in the cold but turns her head to listen for her master’s voice.  This painting shows especially well with a light behind it.  It is framed in a silver floating frame  and  measures H 20 ½ X W 19 ½” X D  ¾”.

A Sunny Day

This painting was done as a study I did in “Acrylic Painting Step By Step” by Tom Swimm.  I was fascinated by the depth he achieved in the painting.  I framed this 16 X 20 painting in an exquisite mirrored frame which adds even more depth.  The mirrored and gilded frame measures H 28” X W 23 ½” X D 1 ½”.

Who Will Win?

Who Will Win? – I love horses and racehorses in particular. I’ve been in the winner’s circle with horses I’ve trained and owned.  It’s a wonderful feeling.  This painting depicts that moment before the finish line when you are so filled with excitement, anticipation and yes fear when you don’t know if your horse will win.  This H 9” X W 12” painting is double matted and framed in a black frame that measures H 18” X W 22” D ½”.

I Believe

This is my fantasy as a child.  A beautiful winged unicorn would come at night and gently wake me and we would fly away and live happily ever after. This dream is framed in a black floating frame and measures H 12 ¾” X W 14 ¾” X D 1 ¾”.

Winning from Behind

This portrait depicts a female jockey winning the race.  She had to come from behind and is covered in dirt thrown up by all the other horses.  I guess I was thinking of the struggle we women have overcome just in my lifetime.  This painting is framed in a walnut stained floating frame and is H 21 ¾” X W 16 ¾” X D 1 1/4 “.

The Old Gris Mill

 If you are looking for color this painting is for you.  It is done in bright colors and depicts a peaceful, happy time in the fall when the leaves are just beginning to turn and it is chilly enough for a fire.  My great grandparents had a gris mill in Mississippi.  It was said they often gave away the mill services for free if people could not pay. This painting is framed in a gold floating frame and measures H 37” X W 50” X D 2”.  Can you find the fish???

Don’t Mess with the US

 I saw this image on a flag and was compelled to paint it.  There is so much unrest in our country today.  It makes me very sad.  This 16 X 20 painting is matted and framed to measure H 26” X W 19 ½” X D ¾”.

When Pigs Fly

I saw that commercial on TV about a pig flying and thought that just for fun I would paint a pig escaping from the farm where she was destined to become “ham.”  She is so happy escaping on her purple wings.  Don’t you sometimes wish you had purple wings?  This happy pig measures H 17” X W 20 ½” X D 1 14”.

Lake Como, Italy

 This painting was done as a study I did in “Acrylic Painting Step By Step” by Tom Swimm.  This is a happy painting as I imagine what a beautiful view the people in those houses enjoy every day. I want to visit Lake Como, Italy one day.  In the meantime I’ll just enjoy the painting.  It is framed in an ornate classic gold framed and triple matted.  The 16 x 20 painting is framed and matted to H 32” X W 26” X D 2”.

Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler

When the last hurricane blew down our fence, I thought, ”What a great opportunity.”   Louisianans love our crawfish and signs about our mud bugs so here is my offering to honor our hurricanes, our crawfish and the fun and we can have even in the aftermath of tragedy. Come get ‘um while dey hot!!!  It measures H 17” X W 24” X D ½” and is suspended by a chain for easy hanging.
